We are thrilled to announce the keynote speakers for the 2024 Terroir Creative Writing Festival, happening Saturday, April 13, 2024 at the Chehalem Cultural Center in Newberg, Oregon.
Omar El Akkad is a two-time winner of both the Oregon Book Award and the Pacific Northwest Booksellers’ Association Award. His debut novel, American War, is an international bestseller. His second novel, What Strange Paradise, won the Giller Prize. He is on the faculty at the Pacific University MFA program. El Akkad will be giving a talk on bringing the contemporary into your writing.
Molly Gloss is the author of award-winning novels and short stories including The Jump Off Creek, and Hearts of Horse. She writes both realistic fiction and science fiction, and her work in both genres often concerns the landscape, mythology and life of the American West. Gloss will be giving a talk on the elements of writing style.
